Anger is a completely normal, usually healthy human emotion, an adaptive response to threats which can allow us to defend ourselves when attacked. A certain amount of anger is necessary to for our survival, however however when this becomes out of control and turns destructive it can lead to problems and affect many parts of someone’s life. Whether that’s in your relationships at home with your partner, friends or family or at work anger can make you feel you are not in control of your emotions. Anger can be caused by external and internal events and can be directed at a particular person (a work colleague) or an event (stuck on traffic) or could be even caused by worrying about your problems.
Anger management helps you to express your feelings in a more assertive and less aggressive way, redirect into a more constructive response and help you to physically calm down. The goal is to not get rid of, change or avoid the people or situation which enrages you but to learn how to control your emotions better.
