Almost everyone feels anxious at some time in their lives and it is common to feel anxious or worried in situations such as job interviews, exams, public speaking or starting in a new job. Anxiety is an emotional response, a fear that something bad is going to happen and you are not going to be able to cope. Help is needed when you find yourself attaching anxiety to events and stimuli that are everyday or if your symptoms are becoming severe and you can no longer cope.
Anxiety can affect everyone in different ways with a wide range of symptoms. There are many different types, from Generalised Anxiety Disorder, (GAD, a fear of fear),phobias and social anxiety, to the sudden and overwhelming onset of anxiety in a panic attack.
